The Director, National Disaster Management Unit, Dr. Duncan O. Ochieng, yesterday presided over the induction of volunteers during a brief ceremony at Travellers Beach Hotel.
The new members, who will support efforts by NDMU officers in responding to security and safety emergencies, received their letters of appointment and membership cards presented by the Coast Regional Police Commander, Mr. Titus Karuri, AIG.
The event was attended by NDMU National Coordinator, Mr. Malkit Singh, Volunteers Strategic Communication Officer, Mr. Mohan Bhatti, County Disaster Management Officer Mombasa, and Mr. Charles Changawa, among other dignitaries.
