NETFUND and the Media Council of Kenya entered into an agreement to enhance awareness and bolster journalists’ proficiency in environmental reporting.
The deal was signed by the Media Council of Kenya CEO David Omwoyo and his NETFUND counterpart Mr.
Samson Toniok.
The duo committed to revitalizing the prestigious NETFUND Green Innovations Award
which will now serve as a platform to promote higher standards of environmental media coverage.
It will also recognize exceptional achievements in journalistic pieces centred around environmental subjects.
The agreement comes amid an increase in climate change in the country, with the East African nation lately experiencing a record-breaking drought.
