A new mother and child unit has been unveiled at Nyahururu Referral Hospital, strengthening the hospital’s commitment to maternal and child health.
The ceremony was conducted by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagu and Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha.
Deputy President Gachagua commended the collaborative efforts between the National and County Governments in completing the unit, announcing a financial commitment of Ksh90 million ($623000) for a new outpatient wing at the request of Laikipia Governor Joshua Irungu.

“The inauguration of the Mother and Child Unit represents a significant step towards improving healthcare for mothers and children in Nyahururu, demonstrating the government’s commitment to universal healthcare access,” said the Ministry of Health.
