The National Police Service (NPS) has announced the official dates for the next recruitment of police constables. This follows the lifting of court orders that had stopped the exercise.
According to the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, the exercise will take place on November 17, 2025, across the country.
The Role of Police Constables in Community Safety
“We are pleased to announce to the public the recruitment of Police Constables into the National Police Service (NPS),” said Kanja.
The applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged 18-28 and holding a valid national ID. He/she must have a grade D+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and a minimum of D+ in English or Kiswahili.
They must also be physically and medically fit, hold no criminal record or have no pending criminal charges. Male candidates should have a height of 5ft 8in, while males 5ft 3in.
Female candidates should not be pregnant at recruitment and during the entire training period.
Kanji has encouraged National Youth Service (NYS) graduates with a minimum entry requirement to apply.
