One Dead In A Plane Crash In Kenya’s Naivasha

One person has been confirmed dead after a light aircraft crashed at Eburru Forest in Naivasha, northwest of Nairobi.

The aircraft had three people on board when it crashed under mysterious circumstances. It was heading to Lodwar, north-western Kenya, from the Wilson Airport when the incident occurred, killing one person on the spot.

The two other passengers sustained severe injuries, and they were admitted to the Naivasha Sub-County hospital.

It was reported the plane was used to monitor locust invasion in the area.

Poor weather condition is alleged to be the cause of the crash.

“It is too early to establish the cause of the crash but, generally, we had bad weather for the better part of the day,” Deputy county commissioner Kisilu Mutua said.

The incident comes a few weeks after an aircraft belonging to Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) crashed in Kajiado, south of Nairobi, killing eleven soldiers on board.
