One person was shot dead and two others injured after police opened fire on a mob that raided a police post in Nambale, Western Kenya.
The irate mob that stormed the Nambale Police Station was enraged by an incident in which a private car purportedly operated by station officers hit and killed a student.
The police car reportedly killed the student while pursuing another vehicle.
The driver, a police officer, knocked the learner before stopping and picking up the learner’s lifeless corpse, loading it into the car, and accelerating toward Nambale Police Station.
Residents were outraged by the incident and invaded the police station, demanding to know why the officers were trying to cover up the student’s death.
As the gathering increased, they pelted the police station with stones forcing cops to fire live bullets to disperse the mob.
In the process of firing, a motorcycle rider was killed, and 2 others were injured.
