Students from Pemwai Girls Secondary School in Baringo Central Sub County, Kenya’s Rift Valley, are rioting over the demise of their colleague.
The deceased, a form two student, was reported to have died on Sunday morning. She is alleged to have succumbed after frequent nose bleeds while at school.
The girls took to the street to protest against the school administration, accusing the school management of laxity as the student had been sick at school for a while.
They accused the principal, Lorna Tuitoek, for denying the girl access to specialized medical care.
“Despite teachers trying to get the girl get better medication elsewhere, the principal refused all efforts,” stated the students.
