Police Arrest Man In Possession Of Illegal Firearm

Detectives have arrested a robbery suspect in Marsabit, Eastern Kenya and recovered a firearm loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition.

This was after detectives raided a house in Badassa village within the Jaldesa location and arrested one Gayo Jattani, 20, who led them to a bush inside Marsabit National Park, where the firearm was recovered.

A further 33 rounds of ammunition, a police jungle shirt, a jungle belt and a cleaning kit were also recovered.

"A firearm loaded with a magazine of 30 rounds of ammunition that was involved in a robbery with violence incident in Marsabit, has been recovered and the suspect arrested," said the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The suspect is currently being held at Marsabit police station pending arraignment.
