The body of a police boss was on Wednesday found in his house in Chogoria, Tharaka Nithi County, Eastern Kenya.

The deceased body was discovered by his two colleagues who had gone to check on him. The officer's lifeless body was found hanging from the roof with a shirt and rope on his neck.

What might have forced the officer to take away his life is still unknown since he did not leave behind a suicide note.

"This morning, one of our officers, a police inspector in charge of crime at Chogoria Police Station, died by suicide by hanging [himself] inside his house," said Tharaka Nithi Police boss Chali Kiplagat.

Meanwhile, Kiplagat has challenged police officers to avoid killing themselves but to share their problems with others.

"I would like to urge officers to understand that police work in its nature is very stressful. I urge them not to result to taking their life but try and share problems, seek guidance and counseling to matters affecting them", added Kiplagat.
