Police Boss Linked With Fatal Shooting Incident To Be Arraigned Today

A police commander accused of shooting a reveler at a pub in Garissa, Northeastern of Kenya, is set to be arraigned and charged with murder.

The Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Michael Munyalo was arrested yesterday following the incident that transpired on May 16 at 3D Club that left Morris Kimathi Kaliunga dead.

The deceased is said to have had a confrontation with the officer that led to the shooting. Reports show that he was shot in the back as he ran away.

The incident took place when the officer and his colleagues were enforcing dusk to dawn curfew to curb the spread of the Covid-19.

Police have said they would ask for more days under a miscellaneous application to pave the way for investigations.

This incident comes days after another police boss Simon Mwongela was nabbed and detained for ten days for allegedly shooting dead a guard at a bar in Nairobi’s Kayole estate.
