A police officer shot himself dead on Wednesday night in Garissa, northeastern Kenya.

Constable Vincent Muteti, attached to Hulugho Police Station, took away his life inside his room.
The incident was reported to the station by his roommate.

"As he was sleeping, he was awakened by a sound of a gun. Upon waking up, he found his roommate's body lying on the floor," the report read.

The preliminary report indicates that Muteti shot himself using three rounds of bullets from the chin and one round exited from the head. The other bullet exited from the left side of his forehead.
