A police officer who was escorting Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) papers was on Monday, November 20, shot dead in Alego Usonga, Siaya County, in the southwestern part of the country.
The deceased was attacked by unknown assailants who managed to escape the scene after committing the heinous act.
During the incident, the officer was in the company of a colleague, a teacher, and an exam centre manager.
They were heading to a local school, Mahero Secondary School, to deliver the exam papers to students.
The officer’s colleague was injured while battling with the suspected thieves while the centre manager scampered for his safety during the attack.
The attackers escaped with the officer’s firearms: AK47 and MP5. Police have launched a manhunt for the unknown assailants, whose intention is yet to be established.
