A Kenyan police officer has been arrested on suspicion of sodomising a student.
PC John Ouko was arrested on Wednesday after reports emerged that he sodomized a 20-year-old Eldoret National Polytechnics student in Kenya’s North Rift.
The student told the police that the suspect arrested him for not wearing face masks before leading him to his house, where he allegedly committed the act.
“Today at around 1630hrs a police officer stationed at Langas police station namely PC John Ouko arrested him for not putting on a mask and handcuffed him and diverted him into his room within police quarters and sodomized him and thereafter gave him Ksh.200 telling him not to disclose the matter to anybody.,” read the police report.
Ouko is being held in police custody pending investigations, whereas the victim has been taken to a local hospital medical check-up.
In December 2020, a Kisumu court charged another police officer with defilement contrary to section 8(1) of the sexual offences Act of 2016.
On the night of 25th and 26th December 2020 in the Shauri Moyo administration police line in Kisumu Central, the court heard that Nelson Cheruiyot deliberately penetrated a minor aged 15 years.
