A Kenyan police officer committed suicide on Wednesday by shooting himself inside his car.
The incident occurred at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters in Nairobi.
Preliminary report shows that the officer, whose name has not been revealed, left the office and walked to the park, where he shot himself in the head inside his car.
People within the DCI headquarters heard the gunshots and rushed to the operations section car park.
On arrival, they discovered the officer’s lifeless body.
The body was transferred to the morgue pending investigations to unravel why the officer took away his life.
This incident comes barely a week after a senior police officer based at Kayole, Nairobi, killed himself under mysterious circumstances.
The officer, identified as Ouma, reportedly called an officer attached to DCI headquarters, threatening to kill himself.
Without much ado, the officers rushed to his house and discovered that he had been rushed to the hospital.
Ouma was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
