A police officer attached to the elite presidential elite has committed suicide in Juja, central Kenya.
Constable Samuel Ngatia shot himself in the head on Monday morning. He was in the house alone during the incident.
What might have driven the 35 officers who were attached to Deputy President William Ruto’s security team to take away his life remains a mystery.
Preliminary investigation shows that he used his pistol to blow his head and the bullet entered on the right side and exited on the left side.
In the house, police discovered a Jericho pistol loaded with 13 bullets and a Trevor Sub Machine Gun with two magazines loaded with 30 bullets.
Police also recovered two spent cartridges and one bullet head.
His body was transferred to the morgue awaiting autopsy.
The investigation is ongoing.
