A policeman has stabbed his wife to death following a domestic squabble in Bomet, Kenya’s Rift Valley.

The incident took place on Sunday night of March 13, 2022, in their rental house in Bomet town.

According to Bomet police chief Musa Omar, the 25-year-old woman was stabbed three times in the chest with a sword and was discovered sprawled in the doorway, indicating that she attempted to flee the incident.

The 35-year-old officer attached to Bomet Police Station then stabbed himself in the stomach with the same sword and was discovered unconscious lying on the floor of their house.

The cop was rushed to Tenwek Hospital in critical condition, while his wife’s body was transported to the Longisa County Referral Hospital Mortuary.

Neighbours were able to save a nine-month-old baby who was left wailing in the house after the two got into an argument.

“The couple has been living peacefully,” one neighbour told the Standard Gazette.
