His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta has directed internal security institutions to heighten vigilance and surveillance across the country following the unfolding security situation in the region.
The Head of State gave the instructions during Thursday’s National Security Council meeting.
President Kenyatta has been in the forefront of efforts to end hostilities between parties in Ethiopia’s Tigray conflict, where rebels have promised to destroy Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s government.
Kenya’s President has been calling for peaceful existence in the neighbouring country.
