President William Ruto Congratulates President Alexander Van Der Bellen

Kenya's president William Ruto has joined other world leaders in congratulating president alexander Van Der Bellen following his re-election as federal president of Austria.

Bellen, a 78-year-old former leader of the greens, won nearly 56% of votes to secure a second-six-year time in the first round.

He beat six other contestants by a huge margin, with his closest rival garnering 18 per cent of the total number of votes cast. Even though 6.4 million Austrians were eligible to vote, only about 66% of them did.

Ruto wished president Van Der Bellen success as he begins a new term. He said Kenya is keen to deepen economic, cultural, and diplomatic ties with Austria.

Kenya and Austria share longstanding cordial relations that have benefitted the people of both nations.
