Public Servant Dennis Thuo Kimani Charged With Forgery of Academic Credentials

A supply chain management officer at the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC), Dennis Thuo Kimani, was charged today before Milimani Law Courts, Nairobi, with forgery of the academic certificate.

The arraignment followed the arrest by officers from the Office of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

He was charged with forgery, uttering false documents and fraudulent acquisition of public property, the cumulative amount of salaries and benefits that he earned based on the fake certificates.

According to EACC, Dennis forged a Degree Certificate in Purchasing and supply chain Management and Transcripts from 1st to 4th year, purporting them to be genuine documents legitimately attained from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

He denied the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh700,000 ($4794) or a cash bail of Ksh200,000 ($1370).

The matter will be mentioned in court on March 11, 2024.
