The requiem mass for James Gakara, a late Kenyan doctor, and his departed children was celebrated today at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Nakuru, northwest Nairobi.

Dr. Gakara died last week on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at Nakuru Level 5 Hospital after an attempted suicide.

The deceased is suspected of having killed his two children, aged 3 and 5, before trying to take away his life.

He reportedly injected the minors with the insulin.

While children’s bodies were discovered with froth seeping from their mouths, the doctor was found lying unconscious on his bed and was rushed to the hospital.

Gakara was alleged to have engaged in a fight with his wife the night before the horrendous incident.

The doctor’s desk and the children’s bedside table each had vials of various drugs.

An autopsy failed to determine the reason for the doctor’s death.

The three will be laid to rest at their home in Gilgil, central Kenya, on Tuesday, September 28.
