Rescue Underway At JKIA After Aircraft Overflying Nairobi Encountered An Incident

Rescue activities are presently underway at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) following an “aircraft incident,” as announced by the Kenya Airports Authority.

The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) confirmed that emergency teams are evacuating everyone aboard the plane.

“An aircraft overflying Nairobi encountered an incident at JKIA this morning. Immediate rescue operations are underway, led by our dedicated emergency response teams,” KAA posted on its Social Media Pages.

“We are working closely with authorities as we prioritize the safety of all involved”.

KAA did not reveal what transpired, and no casualty has been reported.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing smoke engulfing the jet at the airport.
