Resila Onyango Assumes Office As The Police spokesperson

Kenya's National Police Service (NPS) Director of Corporate Communications, Dr. Resila A. Onyango, has assumed office in her new role.

Until her appointment, Dr. Resila was the NPS' Deputy Director of Administration, Planning, and Finance. She assumes office from her predecessor, Bruno Shioso, who has been at the department's helm since August 2021.

Dr. Resila is a holder of a Ph.D. and MPhil in Criminal Justice from the Graduate Center /John Jay College of Criminal Justice- The City University of New York (CUNY), USA, under the CUNY Graduate Center Doctorate Fellowship and a Masters Science degree in Criminology from the University of Pennsylvania, USA, under the Ford Foundation International Fellowship Programme.

Previously, she served as a Criminal Intelligence Officer at the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL). She has also taught Criminal Justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice USA and United States International University-Africa.

An UN-Certified Trainer on Peace Support Operations and a Certified Regional Facilitator for the Eastern Africa Standby Force, Dr. Resila is also a Visiting Fellow at Drexel University, USA
in her capacity as a Criminal Justice Expert.

"The National Police Service welcomes the new Spokesperson as we wish Mr. Bruno Shioso the best as he moves to the National Police College Main Campus- Kiganjo as the Commandant," said the National Police Service in a statement.
