A court in Mombasa has charged a retired Major with the defilement of a 12-year-old girl.
Antony Jakaa Mganda alias Tonny alias Major Mganda was charged in Shanzu Law Court with two counts of defilement and two alternative counts of committing an indecent act with a child and trafficking in persons.
According to the prosecution, the accused person committed the offence on October 16, 2021, at Mwatamba/Kadzandani area within Nyali Sub-County in Mombasa.

Reports indicated that the victim was on her way to school when she was approached by the accused persons, who offered her a lift using a motor vehicle Toyota Harrier, black in colour, and he drove past the school gate to his rented house.
He denied the charges before Senior Resident Magistrate Robert Mbogo.
The court will deliver a ruling on the bond on May 23, 2025.
