Four people died, and eight others suffered critical injuries after being involved in a road accident in the Maltauro area on the Narok-Mai Mahiu highway, Narok County, Kenya’s Rift Valley, on Sunday.
The crash involved a Toyota Wish vehicle travelling towards Mai Mahiu and a Crested Galaxy matatu travelling from Nairobi to Narok.
Police said the driver of the Toyota Wish was attempting to avoid colliding with an allegedly intoxicated individual who was crossing the road when he struck head-on with the Crested Galaxy matatu.
Out of the four, three were men and a woman.
The injured are recuperating in local hospitals in Narok.
