A knife-wielding thug who attacked a pedestrian on Monday evening in Huruma, Nairobi and took away his mobile phones and an unknown amount of money has been arrested.
Silvanus Ochieng was arrested after a brief chase at Huruma grounds pitting the suspect and his two accomplices against police officers from Huruma police station, responding to a distress call from the attack victim.
The suspect, who the victim positively identified in an identification parade at Huruma police station, is also a notorious thug who is part of a gang that snatches mobile phones and other valuables from passengers in public service vehicles along Juja road.
Detectives based at Huruma police station are currently processing the suspect for arraignment to answer charges of robbery with violence.
