Kenya’s Rose Ragamba bagged gold in the Discus sport – women category in the ongoing Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (EAPCCO) games in Rwanda.
“Rose made a clear statement in the foreign territory with her first 46m spirited throw, persistently sending a series of bout jitters to other competitors in the subsequent propulsions, and later signing off with a standing ovation as she climbed on the gold medalist podium,” stated the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Uganda came in 2nd and 3rd place to pocket silver and bronze.
“As we congratulate and take pride in the soft spoken Kenya Airports Police Unit (KAPU) officer, we wish the best to all Kenyan teams whose coaches have since camped at Rakamba’s tent to take important notes,” added the DCI.
Meanwhile, various categories of short race heats have been concluded, with Virginia Nyambura, Mary Kuria and Gloriah Chepchumba representing Kenya in the 1,500M women, Wycliff Kinyamar, Jeremiah Mutai and William Ryan in the 800M men and Maximillah Imali, Monicah Safania and Eunice Kadogo sprinting in the 100M women category.
