Kenyan Senators on Tuesday unanimously voted to approve the National Dialogue Committee, popularly known as Bipartisan talks.
The talks between the ruling coalition, Kenya Kwanza and the opposition, Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya, aim to restore peace in the country.
In the last few months, Kenya has been marred with anti-government protests spearheaded by the opposition leader Raila Odinga.

The opposition was protesting against the high cost of living and electoral injustice.
Even though the country’s Supreme Court validated President William Ruto’s win during the August 9 polls, Odinga believes he won the hotly contested votes.
Some of the agenda to be discussed by the Committee include the Senate Oversight Fund, the National Government Constituency Development Fund and the National Government Affirmative Action Fund.
Others are electoral injustices and the constitution of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
The Senators lauded Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for initiating the talks, saying that Dialogue is a recipe for unity of the Nation and general development of the country.
They also urged leaders to keep away political interests from the Dialogue.
The approval of the Motion by the Senate has come two weeks after the National Assembly approved the Committee.
The Committee will have 10 members, with 5 members from each side.
