Six people linked with heckling and pelting stones at Martha Karua, Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition running last week in Kirinyaga, Central Kenya, have been arrested.

Kirinyaga assistant police boss Daniel Ndege confirmed the arrest.

“There are six boys who have been arrested and arraigned in court for disrupting peace and causing hooliganism,” said Ndege.

The six attacked Karua’s convey at Kagumo and Kerugoya.

It was alleged that some politicians hired the suspects to cause chaos.

Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho accused governor Anne Waiguru and MCA James Murango of causing chaos during the homecoming ceremony of the former justice minister.

Kibicho stated that the governor, in coordination with MCA Murango, purchased alcohol for the youth and directed them to interrupt competitor meetings by heckling the speakers.

The six have been charged with making a commotion and endangering the lives of other Kenyans in a Kirinyaga court.
