A multi-agency security team has recovered 2700 livestock that had been stolen in Turkana, northwest of Kenya.
"Earlier today, the National Police Service (NPS) joint operation team in Turkana County recovered two thousand and seven hundred (2, 700) sheep and goats that had been reported stolen by bandits," said the police.
The recovery was realized after a relentless pursuit of the bandits by the team.
According to the police, the livestock was positively identified and handed over to the owners with the help of the local administration.
Patrols have been intensified to preserve peace and security in the area.
"NPS appreciates the local community for their support as we endeavour to end cattle rusting and banditry in the country," added the police.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
