Students from hell: Five girls charged with attempted arson

Five girls were on Tuesday arraigned in court for attempting to a school dormitory in Kisii, southwestern Kenya.

The suspects from Itierio Girls High School were charged with attempted arson.

Kisii Law Courts heard that on November 9, 2021, at about 4 am, the girls jointly attempted to unlawfully set fire to a building, namely Elgon Dormitory, the property of Itierio girls high school.

They were also charged with having a sanitizer and a gas lighter on the school grounds.

Appearing before Senior Resident Magistrate Paul Mutai, the students denied the charges.

They were released on a bond of Ksh.50,000 ($500) or a cash bail of Ksh.20,000 ($200) each.

The case will be heard on November 29, 2021.
