Students linked to a school fire in Kenya arrested

Police have launched an investigation into the inferno that torched a dormitory at Mwala Girls School in Eastern Kenya.

Four students have been arrested in connection with the Monday morning incident.

Noreen Mwikali aged 18 years, and three other students aged 14, 15 and 16 will be arraigned before the court on completion of investigations.

Mwala police boss Damaris Mutanu confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Police have cautioned students against devastating schools’ property.

“We wish to send a stern warning to students that any act of wanton destruction of school properties will not be tolerated, but will be met with the full force of the law,” read part of the police statement
