Police have arrested six people who have been mugging residents of Mathare Estate in Nairobi.
The suspects, aged between 20 and 26 years, were nabbed by police officers on patrol.
The 6, flushed from their hideout in Mathare Area 1, were possessed of 4 knives, one stone and eight rolls of bhang. They have since been processed and will be arraigned in court.
The arrest came after the Inspector General Police Japhet Koome recently issued a stern warning to crime syndicates in Nairobi and across the country to either desist from crime or face the full force of the law.
“We remain unrelenting in the protection of life and property as security operations in various parts of the country intensify,” said the National Police Service.
