Four suspects have been reported to have escaped from Mahiyanu Police Station in Laikipia County, Kenya’s Rift Valley.
According to police, the suspects had requested to step outside and drink water before fleeing.
After learning that the suspects were free, the locals took to the street to protest against their disappearance.
They claimed police released the suspects.

The local chief acknowledged the occurrence, stating that locals had a hand in locating the suspects and had brought them to the police station.
They had been arrested for vandalizing a borehole and made away with solar panels and pumps.
