Police have arrested three people accused of assaulting a woman and her son in Homa Bay County, south-western Kenya.
In a statement, the National Police Service (NPS) said Dedan Kimathi Agan, Enos Odhiambo Osoo and Lukio Okwiri are in custody awaiting arraignment.
Police noted that the suspects are being processed and will be charged with assault and causing bodily harm.
The footage that circulated online for the better part of Monday elicited public outcry with the majority calling relevant authorities to arrest the perpetrators.
NPS immediately launched investigations and condemned the act stating that there are legally laid down procedures for settling conflicts between people.
“The cruel act victimizing the two for whatever reason is unjustified, unlawful and cruel,” read part of the statement from the NPS.
