Three police officers are nursing injuries after engaging in a fierce shootout with a robber in Kasarani, outskirts of Nairobi.
The Sunday evening incident occurred while they were pursuing robbery suspects.
The officers were on a mission to recover a firearm from a notorious thug when they came under a hail of fire.

After engaging in the shootout for some hours, they managed to gun down the suspect and recovered the gun.
The officers drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are currently receiving treatment in hospital for gunshots.
DCI boss Mohamed Amin visited the officers in the hospital on Monday morning.
“Director of Criminal Investigations Mr Mohamed Amin, visits detectives who were injured while pursuing robbery suspects yesterday,” DCI said in a statement.
