Detectives tracked down Maiyo to a concealed office on the third floor of Kimathi House in Nairobi, where he had been operating under the cover of a logistics company named LetaPeleka Logistics.

According to sources familiar with the investigation, the suspect had taken significant steps to conceal his identity; however, digital forensics and cyber surveillance ultimately led to his location and subsequent arrest.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed the arrest and stated that Maiyo is currently in custody as he undergoes processing. He is expected to be arraigned in court soon to face charges related to incitement to violence and misuse of digital platforms.

“Godfrey Mwasiaga Kakan Maiyo, the suspect behind a viral video inciting violence against police officers and their families, has been arrested,” said the DCI.

If convicted, Maiyo could face severe penalties, including imprisonment under the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act and the Penal Code provisions on incitement.
