Tusker's Unbeaten Run Comes To An End

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League leaders Tusker FC suffered a 2-1 loss to Bandari FC in Mombasa on Sunday.

The Sunday loss was the first for the defending champions, having played six unbeaten matches in the 2022/2023 season.

Bandari's Umaru Kasumba and Juma Andrew scored in the 9th and 30th minutes, respectively. Tusker equalized in the 50th minute through Jackson Macharia.

Despite the loss, Tusker remains top in the log with 18 points, one ahead of the second-placed Nzoia Sugar. KCB and Ulinzi Stars are third and fourth with 15 and 14 points, respectively.

In other matches, Sofapaka won their second match in a week with a 4-0 win against Mathare United at the Ruaraka grounds, Nairobi.

Roddy Manga put Sofapaka ahead through a penalty in the 8th minute. Five minutes later, Sunday Ikekhai doubled the lead.

Baron Oketch and Ben Stanley netted second-half goals in the 75th and 90th minutes to make it four for Sofapaka.
