Police have seized a vehicle loaded with donkey meat at Lower Yatta, Kitui County, Kenya’s Lower Eastern.
The vehicle nabbed at Kwavonza trading centre was suspected to be ferrying the 12 carcases of donkeys to Nairobi.
It was reported the donkeys were slaughtered at a homestead of Wambua Nzioka, one of the residents of Yatta.

The arrest was effected after the matter was reported to Kwavonza Police Station by public members.
“The National Police Service commends members of the public and the National Government Administration Officers for their support that made today’s intelligence-led raid successful,” said the police.
During the raid, police arrested two suspects, Paul Ngige and Ahmed Chege.
The suspects are in Police custody awaiting processing and arraignment.
