Investigations are ongoing, but authorities and residents believe a gas cylinder explosion started the fire. The four people who were trapped there were rescued by the locals, who also stopped the fire’s spread.

Elsewhere, Doreen Moraa, 27, was killed in the second fire incident in the Majengo slums. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

The body of Moraa was found on Saturday night after the fire had been put out.

Bodies of the victims were taken to the morgue awaiting investigations.
