University Student Kills Colleague In Juja

A student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) is behind bars after he allegedly murdered his roommate.

Josphat Nyambuga, 23, is accused of hitting Arnold Otieno, 21, with a blunt object, killing him on the spot.

The incident occurred in their room in JKUAT, Juja, in Central Kenya, on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

According to the suspect, the deceased came back into the room drunk and disorderly, triggering a heated exchange that led to his death.

Police said that after realizing that Otieno was dead, the suspect covered his body with a bedsheet and stashed it under the bed.

“After we got the report on Monday at around 8 pm, we visited the scene and found the suspect in the same room, living with the body of the deceased,” said the police.

The investigations to establish what might have transpired is ongoing.
