Waiguru re-elected Council of Governors chairperson

Kenya’s Governor Anne Waiguru has been re-elected as Chairperson of the Council of Governors (CoG) for a second term.

The Kirinyaga County government boss was re-elected on Monday at the election of executive positions event.

Simultaneously, Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika was appointed chair of the trade committee, succeeding Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti.

Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi was elected to serve on the security committee, replacing Tana River Governor Dhadho Godhana.

Mutahi Kahiga, the governor of Nyeri County, was elected to lead the human resources committee, succeeding Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

Muthomi Njuki, the governor of Tharaka Nithi, will continue to lead the health department. At the same time, Ken Lusaka, Bungoma Governor, retailed the agriculture department.

Fernandes Barasa, the governor of Kakamega, also retained the finance department.
