The Non-Governmental Organizations operating illegally in Kenya’s North Eastern have been put on notice.
The North Eastern Head for Non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) Coordination Board, Joseph Mutemi, said any organization found operating without a certificate will face the law.
“Those that do not share what they do with us, or file their returns, we are still tracking them,” Mutemi said.
“Our mandate is to help NGO’s and coordinate with them. Our offices are open for those who want to register their organizations,” he added.
He implored the Community Based Organizations, men and women willing to register as NGOs, to come forward and apply for incorporations.
Mr. Mutemi revealed the board is at the forefront to help any organization that would want to help the less fortunate in society.
He was speaking in Garissa after handing a certificate of incorporation to a newly registered NGO, ‘Vision Together Foundation’.
The Vision Together Foundation aims to provide basic needs to the needy in the community.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
