Abdulswamad beats Omar Hassan In The Mombasa Gubernatorial Race

Former Mvita Member of Parliament Abdulswamad Nassir won the Mombasa governorship elections held on Monday, August 29, 2022.

Nassir garnered 119,083 votes against his closest opponent Omar Hassan who got 98,105 votes.

The governor-elect vied on the ODM party while Omar was of the UDA.

Awiti Bollo Hezron (875), William Kingi (712), Shafi Makazi (633), Said Abdallalla (338), and Daniel Kitsao were among the other candidates (402).

"We had the strategies that won over those of our competitors. But I am the first to now extend an olive branch so that we work for the betterment of Mombasa," said Nassir.
