Blogger Alai abandons Nyando parliamentary seat race

Kenyan blogger Robert Alai has announced that he will not go for Nyando parliamentary seat, instead will vie for Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly.

Alai said he will use ODM as his political vehicle. He will battle it out with the incumbent Elias Okumu in the primaries to grab the outfit’s ticket.

The person who emerges the winner in nominations will face UDA’s Ayisha Shollei during the August 9, 2022 polls.

The 41-year-old blogger and cyber activist in the recent past has been on news headlines following his attacks on politicians, government officials and business leaders

He was arrested in 2019 and detained for 14 days for sharing gory photos of police officers who were killed by an IED attack in Wajir.
