Kenyan gospel Kevin Bahati joins politics

Kenyan gospel singer Kevin Bahati has joined politics ahead of August 9 polls.

Through a social media post, Bahati has declared for Mathare parliamentary seat in Nairobi.

According to the Gospel award winner, he will be seeking the seat on Azimio La Umoja headed by Raila Odinga.

“We talked, we agreed, it’s sealed! Raila Amollo Odinga,” he posted.

He has now joined local celebrities who ventured into politics to seek elective posts in the August elections.

Others include Rapper and singer Jackson Ngechu Makini, popularly known as CMB Prezzo, who is eyeing the Kasarani parliamentary seat, outskirts of Nairobi.

There is also Mwanaisha Chidzuga and DNG who are vying for the Matuga Parliamentary seat and the Kenyatta Golf Course Member of County Assembly seat respectively.

Comedian Mc Jesse is vying for the Imenti South parliamentary seat. Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o is also vying for the Langata Parliamentary seat
