ODM's aspirant for Nakuru Town West gets direct ticket

Dr. Isoe Ochoki, an aspirant of Nakuru Town West parliamentary seat has been awarded a direct ticket by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

The party said the decision was made after Ochoki’s opponent, Hezron Okiki, resolved to back his bid.

Ochoki has urged members to stay in the party rather than leave it for the sake of future generations. He stated that the ODM will be on the ballot for the upcoming parliamentary seat, despite a call for negotiated democracy by leaders of the Azimio La Umoja movement.

Hezron Okiki, on his part, insisted that party primaries forward reps in the constituency go ahead as planned, calling on the party headquarters to form an independent committee to oversee the process.

ODM’s primaries has been set to kick off in Nakuru county, south west of Nairobi on Friday, April 1, 2022.

The nominations will be carried in other 19 counties perceived as its strongholds. Hezron Okiki, for his part, insisted that party primaries for ward representatives in the constituency go ahead as planned, calling on the party headquarters to form an independent committee to oversee the process.

The exercise will run until April 20.
