The One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals have signed a deal to work together ahead of the August 9 elections.
The principals are Kalonzo Musyoka of the Wiper party, Gideon Moi (KANU), Martha Karua (Narc-Kenya) and Cyrus Jirongo of UDP.
Addressing the press Wednesday at the Wiper party’s headquarters in Karen, Nairobi, the four principals said the signing is an affirmation of their commitment to stand firm, together and focused on securing the lives of Kenyans.
“We have officially and publicly unveiled the One Kenya Alliance Coalition and demonstrated how our vision will fundamentally transform Kenya. As a build-up towards the official unveiling, we have lined up a series of public engagement activities to be hosted by our constituents political parties and partners in various parts of the country,” they said.
Moreover, they stated that they have completed negotiations on the OKA Coalition Agreement, which outlines the nature and extent of their political participation and cooperation with one another as partners.
Their statement stated that they will officially deposit the agreement with the Register of Political Parties on Monday, February 28, 2022, under the name OKA Coalition.
"Our determination stems from the tenacity that we have seen among Kenyans on our recent political tours. Quite the contrary, they are desirous of strong leadership with a serious responsibility to "create a responsive and sustainable economy, promote the rule of law, and restore the dignity of life within our borders."©Standard Gazette, 2021.
