Senator Cleophas Malala has laughed off Mukhisa Kituyi’s presidential bid saying he is far from winning Kenya’s top seat.

Malala spoke days after the former UNCTAD secretary-general was installed as the Luhya community leader by a section of elders.

Luhya community is based in western Kenya.

“I saw Mukhisa Kituyi, a liar from Bungoma, who chose several elders to install him as the leader of the Luhyas. They put him in a skirt and called him an elder, although we don’t know if the elders are from this region,” Malala explained.

Mukhisa Kituyi’s coronation was attended by his fellow aspirant Kivutha Kibwana and Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua.

The Kakamega Senator reminded Mukhisa that the region’s kingpin is Musalia Mudavadi, ANC boss.

He castigated him for being used by outsiders to divide the region ahead of next year’s polls.

“I saw that you invited Martha Karua and Kivutha Kibwana to that occasion, and we know outsiders are using you. “I’d like to inform Karua and Kibwana that Musalia Mudavadi holds the keys to Western Kenya,” Malala remarked.
