President Uhuru Kenyatta opened the public viewing of former President Mwai Kibaki’s body on Monday at Parliament Buildings.
President Kenyatta was accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto among other leaders.
The cortege left Lee Funeral Home at 07:05 a.m. on Monday, escorted by the Third President’s family, and was transported to Parliament with the casket draped in the National Flag.
The body will lie in state for the next three days from today, Monday to Wednesday.
The former president died on Friday, April 22, 2022, aged 90.
He will be accorded a state burial on Saturday, April 30.
