On Monday, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) cleared the former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma to contest the County gubernatorial seat.
The Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG) party candidate was cleared alongside his running mate Tom Ndalo.
He will battle it against the incumbent Prof. Anyang' Ny'ong'o and businesswoman Awuor Messo.
After the clearance, Ranguma committed to fighting graft in the county and continuing with the development projects he initiated during his first term.
He cautioned Kisumu residents against heeding to the propaganda being peddled by Prof. Ny'ong'o's administration.
"Be very cautious and attentive to what you are told, including some of the current administration's various development projects allegedly carried out within the county," Ranguma advised.
Ranguma was the first governor of Kisumu County but failed to get re-elected during the 2017 general elections.
